  123. The installation procedure for LANmenu is quite simple.  The package
  124. includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire process.
  125. You will need about 256K of available disk space on the hard drive on
  126. which you plan to install LANmenu.
  127.  
  128. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  129. LANmenu.
  130.

  132. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  133.  
  134. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  135.  
  136.    o  Place LANmenu distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  137.       diskette drive.
  138.  
  139.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  140.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  141.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  142.  
  143.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  144.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  145.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The program
  146.       will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the
  147.       LANmenu files to that directory. If you so direct it, the
  148.       installation program will install executable programs and
  149.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  150.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your
  151.       autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  154. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  156. If you downloaded LANmenu from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  157. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  158. following steps.

  160.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  161.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  162.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  163.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  164.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  165.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  166.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  167.       the package.
